David Cox
I have worked periodically for the business since I was around ten years old. John initially trained Brian and I how to bud thin the young trees and make boxes. I continued to work on the farm throughout high school and in the summers during college. After graduating from college with a degree in electrical engineering, I chose to go to work on the family farm rather than pursue a job as an engineer. I attribute this decision to my love of the farmers lifestyle and positive relationships with John, Brian, Rebekka, and the rest of the family. I am excited to have the opportunity to work outside, as well as in, with my family and grow with them and the business. I am grateful to my Dad and Mom for providing me the opportunity to farm and enjoy the wonderful lifestyle that is possible on the farm. I am also grateful for our customers cooperation in our business, without them the farm wouldn't exist! I am most of all thankful to God for affording us the wonderful land that we are blessed to live in and the efficient system that makes possible our comfortable lives.
Juan Ruiz
Juan Ruiz has been an important part of Rocky Mountain Peach Company since he started working 13 years ago. Since immigrating from Guanajuato, Mexico, Juan and his wife Juana have been working hard to make a better life for themselves and their two sons Juan Jr and Antonio. Juan understands and can complete any task that need to be done on the farm. He is particularly skilled in gently and rapidly packing the fruit as well as teaching new workers the intracacies of farm labor.
The Crew
Rocky Mountain Peach Company employs between 20-35 skilled, hand laborers during peak work periods. The Crew performs all of the mass manual intensive tasks such as pruning, thinning, and harvesting. They are primarily Mexican seasonal migrants; however some are locals. We are greatly thankful for their hard work.
