Caring for the Fruit
Fundraisers/Group Sales
Selling delicious, fresh Rocky Mountain peaches from RMPC has proven to be a very successful way of generating funds for many organizations, charities, and individuals. Our dedication to quality results in a very high level of satisfaction amongst individual consumers. Once someone has tried our peaches, they will want more of them the following year. The high rate of customer satisfaction we enjoy creates a low energy, regenerative sales scenario that continues to work year after year.
Fundraisers and individuals wishing to get involved in selling our peaches will typically contact potential supporters/customers and take pre-orders for the summer season. Then, they contact us with their desired order and delivery date. We have to wait to confirm orders until after the freeze season has passed and the general condition of our crop is known. We coordinate our orders with our established shipping routes, pick times, and availability. Once we have verified the availability and logistics of the order we contact our customers. We stay in contact until after the peaches have been delivered by our refrigerated tractor-trailers and payment has been made.
This year we are implementing an internet based ordering system to try and reduce the difficulty of communication throughout this process. Customers who want to use the internet based ordering and order management system will contact us for a user name and password for this website. They then can use that information to login and create an internet account with us.
Sales Opportunities
Fundraisers
Our Palisade peaches are easy to sell. They are far different from nearly any store bought peach because they are field packed. Field packing enables us to pick the fruit at the optimum ripeness, when the flavor of the peach has peaked and the peach is quite fragile. Field packing stands in stark contrast to shed packing. Shed packing or line packing depends on the durability of the peach, not the flavor and juiciness, to make it into a box. Shed packed peaches are picked greener so that they can make it through large bins and over sorting equipment without being bruised. Picking as ripe as we do is impossible when running the peaches through a packing shed.
The special nature of our peaches makes it easy for any of our customers to sell the fruit they buy from us. The first time they purchase peaches it is harder because the people have not tasted the difference. Just one taste is all it takes to keep people coming back for more year after year.
Fundraiser groups have found our fruit especially effective in generating money for each particular cause. Typically, fundraising groups contact their supporting members and decide how many peaches they can sell. Pre-ordering eliminates wasted fruit and money and also makes the actual sales go smoother.
Individual Sales
We have a fairly substantial customer base that markets our peaches for individual profit. This group also finds strong success based on the quality and flavor of the peaches we grow. Individuals wishing to market peaches do so through neighborhood orders, newspaper advertising, business associations, and many other contact approaches.
Grocery Store
Food markets have found our fruit to be especially appealing because it is so different from what is typically available. Downsides for grocery store customers include some additional loss of fruit as a result of the ripe quality that we ship but they typically do not have any trouble selling the fruit once they have established customer recognition of how delicious it is.
While it is our goal to serve each potential and current customers peach needs, we have found it difficult over the years to keep up with demand for the fruit we produce. Unfortunately, sometimes we are unable to fill an order because of finite peach availability.
Shipping Area
We ship primarily to the central US but can ship most anywhere within 1000 miles depending on the size of the order.
