Rocky Mountain Peach Company has produced nearly every type of tree fruit viable in the Palisade
area since John and Diane began farming in 1972. We have produced aprocots, apples, plums,
pears, cherries, nectarines, and, of course, peaches. The natural suitability of the area, historic
and current economic conditions, and our personal proclivities for peaches have brought us to our
current business of nearly exclusively producing peaches. We also produce some cherries but this
operation is very small and is managed by Brian Cox.
Palisade Peaches are truly unique. The mixture of sugar, acid, texture, coloring and distinctly
peachy flavors are only possible in Palisades amazing local environment. To achieve the maximum
of these flavors the peaches must be picked at their prime. If the peach gets too ripe then the
tartness and texture of the peach is compromised. Peaches picked too green are not at their peak
of sweetness. At Rocky Mountain Peach Company our objective is to patiently wait until the fruit
is just right and then move it to our customers as gently and quickly as possible.
